FiveM for GTAV Enhanced: what you need to know right now

Early access has been open since 21 July. A rundown of the new installer, the reworked netcode, the stress tests and the pitfalls for server owners.

It’s the biggest shift for FiveM in years: since 21 July 2026, anyone can run FiveM on GTA V Enhanced, the next-gen PC version of GTA V. Cfx.re is clear that this is early access: there are bugs, features are missing, and what you see now may still change before the final launch.

What’s new?

  • A new installer: choose a separate folder or drive for server cache, create shortcuts, and repair or uninstall the client.
  • Reworked netcode: sync data now travels as raw UDP packets, without the third-party libraries used before. That gives Cfx full control over synchronisation. ENet still handles event communication.
  • New Cfx Server binaries: a server with Enhanced support runs on the new binaries, not on your current artifacts.
  • A new VOIP system, with its own documentation. Expect your voice setup to need some attention.

Stress tests and feedback

Cfx held public stress tests on 14 August and 4 September, each running for two hours from 17:00 UTC. Player slots went up gradually during each session, and participants received a special forum badge.

Feedback also works differently now: bugs and suggestions no longer go through forum topics, but through the Discussions tab of a dedicated GitHub repository.

Should you move your server over now?

Our advice: not your production server yet. Set up a separate test server on the new binaries and go through your resources one by one:

  • Do your NUI scripts (phone, HUD, inventory) work without odd artefacts?
  • Does your anticheat support Enhanced yet? Not every vendor is there.
  • How does your voice resource behave with the new VOIP system?
  • Do your custom maps, MLOs and vehicles load correctly?
Careful with anticheats. Tools that take screenshots or recordings through NUI run into a known problem on Enhanced. FiveGuard put its Enhanced support on hold in August for that reason. Ask your vendor about the current status before you switch.

In short

Enhanced is the future, but early access means exactly what it says. Experiment, report bugs on GitHub, and only plan the move once your critical resources get the green light. Our anticheat comparison tracks which vendors have confirmed Enhanced support.
